GeMSE Measurements in XENONnT Radiopurity Paper

The Freiburg Astroparticle Physics Group contributed to the material screening and selection campaign for the XENONnT dark matter experiment using their GeMSE low-background spectrometer. A large fraction of the newly installed Hamamatsu R11410-21 photomultipliers and other construction materials were screened in this facility operated in the Vue-des-Alpes tunnel in Switzerland. The XENON publication can be found here.

Another topic covered in the paper is the cleanroom infrastructure used to install the XENONnT detector. Two ISO-6 cleanrooms, one underground and one in the LNGS above ground laboratory, were planned and to a large extent also maintained by the Freiburg group.
