Date, Time
October 2-4, 2024 | University of Freiburg, Germany
The meeting will start on Wednesday at 14:00 and will end on Friday around 12:30.

Please note that Thursday, Oct 3, is a public holiday in Germany. This means that shops, supermarkets etc will be closed.
Location and Directions
The meeting will place at the natural science campus ("Institutsviertel") of the University of Freiburg, Germany. The campus is in walking distance from the old town and the Freiburg train station (~10 min, bottom left of map).
The collaboration meeting will take place in the Crystallography Lecture Hall, Hermann-Herder-Str. 5, right across the entrance to the Physics Institute (Hermann-Herder-Str. 3).
Freiburg is well connected by the German high speed train network (ICE). Travel from Geneva main station takes ~3:30h.
The closest airports are
- Basel/Freiburg (BSL): an EasyJet hub with lots of connections within Europe. There is a frequent and reliable bus-service between BSL and Freiburg (0:50 h, tickets can be purchased online and on board; card payment is possible).
- Frankfurt (FRA): Germany's largest international airport is can usually be easily reached by train. However, due to massive construction and maintenance, the train tracks between FRA and Mannheim are closed in October. This will increase the journey to Freiburg to ~3h.
- Zürich (ZRH): Switzerland's largest international airport is can be easily reached by train (2:00-2:30 h, 1-2 changes at Zürich HB and Basel)
- Other possibilities (albeit less convenient) are Stuttgart (STR), Karlsruhe (FKB) and Strasbourg (SXB). FKB is served by Ryanair. In all cases, you need to change buses/trains several times to get a long-distance train to Freiburg.
